I, Melissa am the primary animal caretaker on our little ranch in Northern Idaho. We have raised Registered Dairy Goats since 2009. We started with Lamancha's and a few grades for 4-H not knowing what breed would fit our family well. Five years later, we add Nigerian Dwarfs and Mini Lamanchas. As our family changed, we decided to make a hard decision to sell our  Lamancha herd and focus on Nigerian Dwarfs and Minis, which seem to fit us much better. In 2014 we added Oberhasli's. In 2017 we had to make another hard choice and sell the whole farm to move. We did not stay gone long, we bought a nice 20-acre farm in Blanchard, Idaho which gave us our new farm and name Stone Creek Acres. With a lot of thought, we purchased a few Obers to start a new adventure in Minis again, We also added mini Obers. We Decided to Try Nigerians Again for 2025, first kids will be born Summer 2025.

Before 2017 I was a goat 4-H club leader and involved in the NEWDGA club. I will continue DHIA milk testing, and Show as a member of MDGA And ADGA Regestry. We make cheese and other dairy products from our milk as well as soap. Our goal is to be self-sufficient and to raise our own food.

I am striving to raise dairy goats that are gentle, Hardy, and abundant milkers that are easy to hand milk. I’m also breeding for correct dairy conformation with top bloodlines that excel in the show ring and milk pail. With that being said, we have invested a lot in bringing in some of the best genetics we can. Our herd is selected from countless hours of research.

Many variables go into milk production and optimal health, such as pasture rotation, types of forage, types of grain as well as herbal and natural methods. These are some of the things that we are either exploring now or plan to look at more closely. We are always learning.  As you look through my site, I hope you can see the incredible quality and care I put into each breeding. My goal is to improve my herd responsibly, which in turn, with the purchase of a kid, will hopefully do the same for you.
